How to Order a Custom Mold
While most get the low down right away, I do receive questions every now and then on how it works. It can be a little daunting if you've never done it before or don't know what choices are available. So here is a little article of how it goes, it's pretty simple once you know ^-^
Now when I say custom, I mean you get to pick the pieces, theme, etc. Not that I can make a piece to mold, the item description states, "I cannot do sculpting or fabrication at this time." A bit blunt but now we can get to one of the FUN parts.
There are currently three different listings for custom molds. One is the mini. This is a very small size and can only fit one - two small pieces, and multiples of tiny pieces (such as the mini unicorns or mini roses). The newest mold, an adorable cupcake shape. It's the size of a medium circle but in a cute shape. The most popular listing is this one. It comes in a range of sizes, suitable for anyone's needs. Most people tend to choose a large or extra large.
Okay now here's the real fun part - the pieces! Typically, the person will tell me what they want / have in mind and I will send pics of what I have matching that. You could also send me pics of pieces you've found around. I also have a catalog that is currently under construction that you can use as well. Either way, once you have decided on them I will ask that you send me screenshots of each thing to confirm your choices. This is to make absolute sure there's no confusion. OR you can give me a theme and I curate the pieces for you. Some people even do half and half.
Typically I do not send layouts of custom molds (though I can upon request). This is because the final is not made until the actual mold is being made and usually things move around, are added, and sometimes removed entirely.
So what are you actually paying for? The service of having the mold made, and that's about it. Prices for my handmade silicone molds are quite low, especially compared to similar items. And if you have an item that you would like to have molded, there is no extra charge! Just pay for the size that it needs.
